Mark G. Nichols
Managing Partner and CEO
Mr. Nichols is an industry veteran and pioneer with a 24 year track record of identifying and developing opportunities in the alternative investments industry. In the nascent days of hedge funds in the early 1990's, Mr. Nichols identified the strong demand from the Swiss private banking community for access to leading US hedge fund managers. With this in mind, he established the first international hedge fund advisory group, with offices in Paris & London. As the CEO and founder of the Almas Group of companies, the business had few competitors in the international marketplace, and Almas dominated the hedge fund advisory market for many years. Almas has established advisor networks and private banking channels in over 80 countries.
Prior to founding Almas, Mr. Nichols was handpicked for the Salomon Brothers Executive Training Program, a cutting edge investment banking program, and selected for the International Risk Arbitrage Desk in New York.
Head of Strategic Partnerships
Mr. Dewsnip is a senior financial services professional with over 33 years' experience in banking, business development, marketing and distribution. He has served as an executive director of a Guernsey regulated bank as well as in various non-executive director and consultancy roles. Mr. Dewsnip trained with the National Westminster Bank Group and was placed second in the global pass list of 1,000 students when he passed his Chartered Institute of Bankers exams, before moving to N M Rothschild & Sons to specialise in corporate lending. He moved to Guernsey to establish Rothschild's offshore lending business, and developed an extensive global intermediary contacts network and built a highly profitable private client loan portfolio from start-up to over $1billion. He also managed a private banking division for Rothschild.
During his extensive financial services career, Mr. Dewsnip has developed strong sales, marketing and business development skills, particularly with financial advisers and intermediaries. Since leaving the Rothschild Group, Mr. Dewsnip has served in several executive and consultancy roles, including nonexecutive director positions with investment management, fund administration and captive insurance companies.
Chief Digital Officer
As Chief Digital Officer, Max is responsible for overseeing the development of the Almas Nexus technology and the teams responsible for onboarding and servicing our global clients. Max is a serial entrepreneur involved in multiple startups, most recently as Founder and CEO of Explorator Media. Throughout his career, Max has been an innovator in the Amazon optimization and e-commerce space, an advocate for analytics first digital approaches to marketing and design, and has consulted on Optimization and Best Practices for Fortune 500 companies. Max's many accomplishments include being a winner of the Milli Award in Entrepreneurship.
One of Max's most recent projects featured joining a team to aid in building a forecasting system that harnessed 45 data source to predict Amazon sales for a Fortune 100 CPG Manufacturer. The forecast used marketing plans to derive sales forecasts and present them in a visual dashboard.
Previously Max has led teams on many projects including: building a learning management system for Johnson and Johnson's McNeil Group Drug Reps, building an eCommerce system for a $200mm apparel company and migrating websites for one of the world's largest wire makers into a modern hosting and development environment.
